and what i've come up with is not deep or meaningful.
but it's truth.
so here's my segment of good thing/bad thing.
it's a bad thing when your shower head doesn't reach the top of your back.
it's a bad thing when your shower curtain doesn't cover the whole length of the shower.
it's a even worse thing when the tub does not drain, and by the end of your shower, you have to rinse your feet.
it's a good thing the bathroom door closes tightly.
it's a bad thing when the bathroom door only closes when you're standing in between the toilet and the tub, meaning the bathroom is smaller than most kitchen pantries.
it's a bad thing when the refrigerator only reaches your shoulders.
it's a bad thing when you have to get on all fours to reach a bottle of water at the back of the fridge.
it's a bad thing to have to buy bottled water, but one taste of the warm tap water deemed this 'have-to' situation.
it's a bad thing to have to walk through the courtyard (and past the doberman) to the laundry room.
it's a good thing when laundry is free.
it's a good thing to cook.
it's a bad thing to spend the rest of the night getting the smell of what you had for supper out of the room.
it's a bad thing to keep finding bugs everywhere.
(there's nothing good about that)
it's a good thing to have internet.
it's a bad thing to have your internet come through a cord (are we still in 2005?)
it's a good thing to have a housekeeper come by the room everyday.
it's a bad thing to have an efficient housekeeper who knocks on the door at 8am (and will come in)
it's a good thing to stay in one spot for three weeks.
it's a bad thing when it's this.
it's a bad thing to have no reason to leave the space previously detailed.
it's a good thing to have nothing to do and no reason to leave the TLF, which means--sweatpants all day.
it's a bad thing when the only suitable name for your place of residence for the next 3 weeks is TLF, or 'temporary living facility'. the word, 'facility', sums it up nicely.
sorry for the blurry pictures, but you get the idea.
and don't worry, we are surviving! it's not a miserable as i make it sound, just semi-awful. now just 2 and a half weeks until we get our house! (and it's going to seem like forever) :)
*and on a much more serious note, please keep the town of joplin in your prayers today and this week! my dear, sweet friend, carrie and her family live there and i am still trying to get a hold of her.*
